With just over three hours left in the Warren Buffett Power Lunch charity auction and some 20 bids, it seems that "fastisslow" isn't so slow and might actually win the auction as his (her?) current bid is now the highest and stands at $551,100.00.
"magicyourlife" was a late comer to the auction and helped, through bidding, push the price up by some $50,000.
Monish Pabrai, or "mpabrai", who already didn't win the last auction, seems out of the game at the moment. However, my guess is we haven't seen the last of the bids and that last-minute bids could further push the price up. We might even see a newcomer who has been lurking and could "snipe" the auction at the last minute.

Remember though this is for 8 people. That $551K bid sounds like a lot, but that only comes to $68,875 a person. This would be a lot if the dinner was at Burger King, but this is at Smith & Wollensky's, a fine New York steakhouse too. We're sure $68,875 will buy each attendee a very nice cut of beef and one of the better tables in the house.
